Christopher Miller Grant Fund

The Christopher Miller Grant Fund was established by George and Charlet Miller in memory of their son Christopher to provide financial assistance to senior students who have played soccer for FC York (or one of the three clubs which combined to create FC York) and/or a York County high school varsity soccer team.  There will be a total of four (4) $ 500.00 grants provided.  Each of the following will receive a grant: an FC York male player, an FC York female player, a York County male player and a York County female player.  The grant money must be used for continuing their education at a college, university or trade school.

The linked application form requests information concerning education, soccer history, soccer club contribution and community service.  It is important for the applicant to complete these sections as the award will be based on the following criteria which exemplifies Christopher:

• Applicant must have a GPA of 85% or higher

• Applicant played soccer for an FC York soccer team for a minimum of three (3) years and/or for a York County high school varsity soccer team for a minimum of two (2) years

• Applicant contributed to the community/church

• Applicant contributed to local soccer clubs

• Applicant promoted good sportsmanship both on and off the playing field

In addition to completing the application form, the applicant must also submit a typed letter that explains how soccer has influenced their life.  The letter should be a maximum of two (2) pages with no spelling or grammatical errors.

The deadline for submitting the application is May 15th.  A representative from the FC York will personally present the award to the successful applicant at the individual’s school award ceremony at the end of the school year.
